William R. Timmerman, MD, FACS, FASCRS
Dr. Timmerman has been with the practice since 1997. He specializes in the treatment of colon and rectal cancer, laparoscopic colon surgery, and the diagnosis and treatment of intestinal and anorectal disorders.
Dr. Timmerman treats both adult and pediatric patients ages 6 and up. He sees patients at our Hanover and Henrico Doctors’ offices.

Dr. Timmerman received his undergraduate degree from South Dakota State University and his medical degree from the University of Minnesota School of Medicine. He completed his general surgery residency at Hennepin County Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in Colon and Rectal Surgery at Presbyterian and Parkland Hospitals in Dallas, Texas.
Board certified by the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery.
Fellow of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons. Additional memberships include the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons and the Chesapeake Colorectal Society.
